Summer Programs
Mid Peninsula Christian Academy offers a summer program
for students entering grades 1-8 to reinforce what they have
learned during the school year and to expand their knowledge
bases. We will focus on integrating concepts presented in
either math or language arts through games and projects that
provide hands-on learning. Space is limited.
Reading and Spelling:
Fluency
Comprehension
Decoding
Spelling rules
Phonemic
Awareness
Math
This hands-on, manipulative-based program is designed for
students who need more development, strategies and
practice learning math facts and procedures. We have fun
discovering the world of math.
1:1 Intervention
1 hr. sessions. Call for availability. Intensive one-hour
sessions focusing on individual needs in reading, spelling,
writing and math.
The Writing Process
We will go through the steps of the writing process using
Inspirations software. We will focus on:
Organization
Composition
Sentence structure
Graphic organizers
Fast ForWord®
1.5 hr. sessions. Call for availability. This program helps
student from a broad spectrum of ages and abilities improve
reading, language and learning skills. The exercises
systematically develop Learning MAPS: Memory, Attention,
Processing and Sequencing.
FUN SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM
This summer we will also offer non-academic, learning
courses. We have art, photography, organized physical
activities, science experiments, and more!
